Tanzania is Africa’s finest safari destination and a fascinating country. An unparalleled a quarter of the land mass is mainly set aside as protected areas. Its endowed with thousands upon thousands of wildebeest that march in mindless unison on the annual migration through the Serengeti plains. Serengeti is a Maasai word that means endless plains, that stretches to Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. It also has families of elephants wading across the wide, muddy Rufiji /Tarangire River. Not forgetting a pride of well-fed lions basking on the grassy floor of the majestic Ngorongoro Crater and the tree climbing lions of Lake Manyara as they take a vintage point in their hunt. Last but not least, Mt Kilimanjaro – the only highest free standing mountain in Africa common known as the “Roof of Africa” it stands at 5895 meters above sea level.

Mt. Kilimanjaro Climb:

The Marangu Route is the easiest and shortest route to the summit. This is also the only route with the sleeping huts at every camp site with solar-powered lights and comfortable beds. All climbing groups share meals in dining huts providing a jovial and energetic atmosphere. This route is usually done in 5 days, but you can do it in 6 days for better acclimatization. You can spend the extra day resting at Horombo or climbing to a base camp below Kibo’s sub peak Mawenzi.

SELOUS GAME RESERVE

Selous is located in the southern part of Tanzania. It is the largest conservation area in the World and is a home to the endangered African hunting dog – Wild dog. The reserve its still raw with its natural aesthetic beauty.

Serengeti National Park

The name ‘Serengeti’ comes from the Maasai language and appropriately means an ‘extended place’. The National Park, with an area of 12,950 square kilometres, is as big as Northern Ireland, but its ecosystem, which includes the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Maswa Game Reserve and the Maasai Mara Game reserve (in Kenya), is roughly the size of Kuwait. It lies between the shores of Lake Victoria in the west, Lake Eyasi in the south, and the Great Rift Valley to the east.

Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area spans vast expanses of highland plains, savanna, savanna woodlands and forests. Established in 1959 as a multiple land use area, with wildlife coexisting with semi-nomadic Maasai pastoralists practicing traditional livestock grazing, it includes the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest caldera. Extensive archaeological research has also yielded a long sequence of evidence of human evolution and human-environment dynamics, including early hominid footprints dating back 3.6 million years.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park is known for the flamingos that inhabit the lake. During the wet season they inhabit the edges of the lake in flocks of thousands but they are not so present during the dry season.

More than 400 species of birds inhabit the park and many remain throughout the year. Because of this Lake Manyara National Park is a good spot for bird watching. Visitors to the park can expect to see upwards of 100 different species of bird on any day.

Leopards, lions, cheetahs, elephants, blue monkeys, dik-dik, gazelle, hippo, giraffe, impala, and more inhabit the park and many can be seen throughout the year. There is a hippo pond at one end of the park where visitors can get out of their cars and observe from a safe distance. The leopards and lions are both known to lounge in the trees while not hunting for prey.

Zanzibar is an archipelago consisting of Zanzibar and Pemba Islands, located in the Indian Ocean, about 25 miles from the Tanzanian coast, and 6 degrees south of the equator. Zanzibar Island (known locally as Unguja) is 60 miles long and 20 miles wide, occupying a total area of approximately 650 square miles. The majestic spice island of the Indian Ocean is the ultimate Indian Ocean experience, with its fascinating historical stone town and magnificent beaches.

Clients can also add other excursions and adventure in Zanzibar; (Scuba diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, water skiing and sailing on traditional local dhows.)

The best way to see Kampala is by a motor bike, because of the tight traffic jam. The client will get to see the Namirembe Cathedral, Gadaffi’s Mosque, the royal graveyard, Kampala’s own ‘Beverly Hills’ and Idi Amin’s canon. This is very important to clients who want authentic things, local initiatives and contact with the ‘native’ population

Kampala area, Sipi falls which is a series of three tall waterfalls all plunging along the lower slopes of Mt Elgon, with motorcycle tours around the capital.

Owen Falls

The Owen Falls was a waterfall on the White Nile in Uganda near the city of Jinja, 4 km from the point at which the river leaves Lake Victoria. The falls, together with the nearby Ripon Falls were submerged in 1954 with the completion of the Owen Falls Dam (later renamed Nalubaale, but still commonly known by the old name) that now accommodates a hydroelectric power station

GORILLA TRACKING

Rwanda is evergreen with a magnificent landscape of hills and plantations. It’s attraction ranges from tracking of Mountain gorillas in the Volcanoes National Park, several species of primates, bird species, volcanoes, game reserve, resorts and islands on the expansive lake Kivu. The magnificent Virunga Mountains consist of six Volcanoes, 125 km2 of mountain forest, and are home to the famous gorilla families. The Volcanoes National Park was first gazetted in 1925, to protect the gorillas from poaching. It was the very first National Park to be created in Africa.
